During an interview with the BBC, the Education Secretary – Michael Gove talked about the so called 16 free schools. He said that over the next year, these “free” schools will be set up to help poor students in getting good education.
The Minister seemed dubiously excited by the program so far. For those of you, who do not completely know about the program, just beware that it is a result of Labour party’s moves. Though, we already know what the end result will be like, we’re still willing to hope for something good. These schools will be run through ballots; those ballots will be controlled and a steady amount of profits will be made as an excuse for aiding the poor students.
The Labour say that the demand for free schools has been increasing over the past few years. On the other hand, Mr. Gove talked of an “English Baccalaureate” that would enable the students to study a wide range of different subjects.
The education will be cordoned in form of a diploma for 14 to 16 year old students. As said by Mr. Gove, the program will focus on providing kids with a broader education and a “core body of vast knowledge”.
The Education Ministry is expecting an increased number of students in the next year. Once those 16 schools are up and running, there will be a total of 140 schools, as part of the Ministry’s goal to serve students through a well rounded education.
