Back in the days when “486” PCs were common, engineers used to use AutoCAD as design software. Down the road, the software became a huge hit, especially with Apple’s computers to support it.
After an absence of more than 20 years, the developers of AutoCAD: AutoDesk made an announcement on Tuesday. The software has been brought back to life for Apple enthusiasts, in an all new manner. This time, AutoCAD has been known to have support for 3D models and advanced user interface.
AutoDesk also embraced Apple’s other platforms by introducing AutoCAD for the iPod Touch, the iPad and the iPhone. It’d be possible for users to make changes to an AutoCAD design and then share it through social networking features of the device, or maybe through emails.
The senior Vice President of Auto Desk – Ammar Hasnpal said on Tuesday, “The release of AutoCAD on MAC marks a big day for both companies. It is a great opportunity for Mac users and engineers who’ve been missing AutoCAD for the last 2 decades.”
AutoDesk also said that the software will let users make real time changes to an open file. It’d mean that several users can share one AutoCAD file and edit it simultaneously through their devices.
