Internet Banking Trend in 2011 and Possible Risks

Same words has different meanings for everybody, like the Internet Banking that some people thinks as the easiest way to check and modify balance  or purchase anything sitting in the comfort of Office or Home but according to someone it’s a liability that can create problems if used incorrectly. Now like every advance has all types of effects, the facility of banking through internet has opened a wide range of possibility and faster speed along with the risk of online hacking which is happening now a day frequently in many places.

One of the basic differences of internet banking users with others is that they are not tech savvy and mostly don’t use computer or laptop a lot for personal use, so they get in the net of hacks and spoofs very easily than any other person. One of the most easiest way to do that is sending a link of a website that looks like the bank home page to the users which he try to login and in the process, give their user account information to the hacker. This has been happening since last 2-3 years and despite all kinds of security warnings from the bank, new users fall into this trap.

While banks will be trying to tighten their security, people will like to go for the company who will have all round facilities in their online banking homepage, from paying bill to direct shopping, from investment to stock trading information everything is available online and it is always better to get all services under one roof, so it will be a competition among them about the maximum facility can be given at the customer’s fingertips.

Mobile has also been advanced through the last 3-4 years, it is not only a device for voice calling only, but also get in touch with friends, family and work online, all service providers are having low cost data usage plans in the mobile, which is a likely cause that in 2011, all banks will provide users with unique software to do financial transactions, not via the browser’s bank website that take more time to accomplish anything, but a dedicated software given from a bank to the user for logging in and using the account that will work via internet and use less amount of data usage.

As natural resources are not unlimited and are coming to an end, the word e-currency is getting more meaning and value and it play an important role in 2011 via handheld devices. Till now there are uses of electronic currency in works like paying bills or shopping online but normal day to day purchase and transactions are made by hard paper made cheque or cash which may likely to be changing in the near future. The advantage of e-currency over hard cash is the convenience of carrying any limit of amount without a bit hesitation or load and the transaction is as fast and safe as normal one.

One of the risks of online banks is the online banks with websites only who does not have much existence in physical world. These types of online banks often manage to lure users with the claim of higher interest rates and policies which no reputed bank can give generally. So novice people fall into their trap and lose everything, previously they were known as high yield invest plan banks where many people used to keep their money on and later regretted, but they might again come with some kind of attractive plans to use people depositing into their accounts.

Online banking is gaining its popularity over years and it is a fast and easy way to monitor financial transactions or funds for the people who know how to use it securely, for the rest of the non tech savvy people, it’s time to learn some basic computing to get secured and use it in their own advantage without woes and worries, at least it will save the trouble of standing a queue for hours to cash a cheque or resubmit a cheque for the difference of a signature.

So in 2011 the facility of Online banking is getting more improved and with improvised security.
