So far, Samsung has sold over a million Galaxy S Android smartphones all over the U.S. The sales figures are still rising up because the company made some revealing announcements yesterday.
The combined sales that Galaxy S encountered, through T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon, basically amounted up to Vibrant, Captivate and other smartphones. For Google, it was a sign of rapid progress against those Apple fan boys.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S took over the market alone, without any aid from previous campaigns of Vibrant of Captivate. There’s a fair reason for Samsung’s success. For Galaxy S, the company officials opted for a multicarrier strategy. Unlike Apple, Samsung didn’t keep itself to a sense of “exclusivity”, that’s why the smartphone was released through different carriers and slight differences.
There are 4 different versions of the Galaxy S, but they all run on the same chipset and core processing units. All of them have a 4 inch screen, super AMOLED display panel, 1 GH processor and the same camera.
The Galaxy S phones have been shipped with Android OS 2.1. All respective careers will be prompting users about the update once Android 2.2 is made available by Google.
