Sony unhappy with UAE ban on Heavy Rain

Following the ban imposed on Sony’s PS3 game Heavy Rain in UAE, the publishers have declared their unhappiness at being unable to officially release the game there.

The movie-styled interactive game has been marked as only for adults, but it has been claimed that while mature content exists, efforts have been made to deal with it in a “sensitive” manner.

“This means that it deals with strong content including blood and nudity, but treats this content in a mature and sensitive manner,” the publishers said.

“The game is not intentionally controversial or sensationalist, and all the themes and content are consistent with what consumers would expect to see in a mainstream Hollywood thriller.”
