YouTube Music: Where Does It Lead to?

YouTube recently celebrated its 5 anniversary: some folks like it and some didn’t. The company has launched a new music discovery and recommendation channel for its users. So where does it lead YouTube to? Official reports say that YouTube’s “musical” venture may not be the most favorable thing for the records companies.

In early 2010, whenever someone wanted to watch music videos, they’d log on to torrents websites. If the video wasn’t there, they’d retreat to the official sources and buy the video for a couple of bucks as digital download. Right now, with the rise of YouTube, profits are soaring for the music video developers.

The company is obviously making a lot of people upset. Back in 2005, we used to see Jawad Karim at YouTube.com. The guy used to stand in the zoo and that’s all YouTube had to offer. However, if you fast forward to 2010, the company has switched towards billions of video views on daily basis.

It is not the first time that YouTube has been pestered with accusations. Several cases were filed against the company but it always emerged victorious. The latest company that is rolling up its sleeves against YouTube is Viacom.

The arch rival claims that YouTube is violating copyrights under the broad day light! We may not know what fate has locked up in store for YouTube, but fact is a fact: the internet video monger has been doing great. We wish you guys at YouTube, the best of luck.
