Naomi Campbell and the Blood Diamonds

The Hague Netherlands – Tuesday, August 10, 2010 – ShutterVoice – Last week Naomi Campbell testified in the Hague at the trial of the ex Liberian President Charles Taylor.

Supermodel Campbell testified that 13 years ago in South Africa she was woken late at night in her hotel room when two men knocked on her door and gave her a small parcel. She testified that when she opened the parcel the following morning, she saw ‘some dirty little stones’ they were in fact raw uncut diamonds which she then handed to an aide of Nelson Mandela in the hope the diamonds would help to provide funds for a Children’s charity run by Nelson Mandela. Two other witnesses have also testified about the ‘blood diamonds’ they are actor Mia Farrow and Carole White who was the personal manager to Naomi Campbell for 17 years.
