The star of browser wars is Mozilla Firefox these days and this time, the company is all set to launch the 3rd beta version of the Firefox 4 browser. The new version is said to have more stability, control and tighter performance improvements over previous beta editions.
Firefox officials are also paying extra attention to the security protocols that will make the browser even more secure and solid than the earlier versions. Why is Mozilla hastening with the release of Firefox 4? It’s simple, with Microsoft and Google speeding up the ramp with I.E 9 and Chrome, its better for Mozilla to come up with something impressive quickly.
The Firefox team has also installed the Content Security Policy this time, which is focused on Cross Site Scripting and prevents injected scripts from running on their own. The security program manager – Brandon Stern @ Mozilla said that Firefox is going to operate in an all new way from security perspective. The CSP protocol will only authorize the default scrip that is already installed on the backend of any website.
With the help of CSP, Mozilla is making attempts to create the technology, due to which it can become a W3C specification. As a matter of fact, all browsers can benefit from this specification. Moreover, it was revealed by the director of Firefox that Microsoft as well as Google have already showed their interest in CSP.
History security
Firefox is also going to provide users with a couple of fixes for those long standing flaws in the CSS. Those flaws led any potential attacker to identify and violate the website that user frequently visit. The user’s site visit information could be used to plot an attack on broader platform by the said attacker.
It is claimed that the new release of Mozilla Firfoz will be ambitious. We will see if it is true.
