Android devices conquer CESAndroid is an emerging operating system which is currently being talked about in the technology world. Created by Google, the operating system powered quite a number of smartphone devices namely the Motorola Droid as well as HTC Hero. Usage of the Android based devices are increasing at a rapid pace and sooner or later, it is predicted to be one of the major players in the smartphone world.

The Consumer Electronics Show or the CES is a non public annual event where manufacturers all over the world come together to display some of their latest lineups. One of the most-talked about in this year’s CES is no other than the Android operating system. In fact, numerous Android-powered devices were available in this year’s CES. These aren’t just limited to smartphones but to several other devices such as the TV top box.

Several manufacturers also pledged to come up with their own Android based devices including one of the leading computer manufacturers, Dell. MIPS Technology on the other hand released some of their IPTV top box prototypes powered by the Android operating system as well.

In addition to the CES, there are several other announcements regarding the Android. Its developing company, Google, announced its first Android phone manufactured by the company itself. Named the Nexus One, the product received rave reviews from various tech news sources. The upcoming product is said to help boost the manufacturing of Android based devices especially amongst smartphone manufacturers.

Major telecommunication company AT&T also unveiled its plan on supporting 5 new Android devices with one of them being the Dell Mini 3. However, with its heavily criticized network, the company has yet to see the outcome of the plans made.

The interest of Android based devices are increasing due to its stability, quality as well as its interface. Certainly, it will be the operating system of the future.
